Public Health Practitioner, International Youth Alliance for Family Planning
Goodness Ogeyi Odey is a public health practitioner who is passionate about Young People Development, Health Equity, evidence-base generation through Research, Gender Equality and Sustainable Development.
In 2021, I worked as a Policy Advocacy Associate with International Youth Alliance for Family Planning (IYAFP), consulting on the Sustaining Evidence Driven Advocacy (SEDA) Project in Cross River State (CRS), Nigeria, where she co-led the SEDA team and critical stakeholders in the development of the first ever CRS Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights Policy, aimed at ensuring young people have improved access to youth-friendly Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) services especially at the grassroots and health care facilities in the state.
Goodness has a budding career in global health, and as a early career researcher, she supports the work Global Health Focus does through research writing, leadership and mentoring women to actively be part of proffering evidence base that translates to gap in health equity and achieve sustainable development in our communities and globe.
She strongly believe every young person deserves access to the right Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights information and services to enable them make informed decisions, and prevent unplanned future; This she does with other young people in Calabar, Cross River State Nigeria, supporting youth-led initiatives and CSOs such as Today for Tomorrow Foundation, Nigeria Youth SDGs Network, and Global Shapers Community, to advocate for adolescents and young people’s needs and rights.
She enjoys reading, writing and playing with children. Above all, Ogeyi is a child of Owolicho and evidently, more than any eyes can see.
