Morenike Fajemisin is the CEO and co-founder of WHISPA mobile app. She is a multi-award-winning pharmacist, who is passionate about improving Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights. Her mobile app-WHISPA provides young people with private, even anonymous, access to a variety of Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) information, products and services. To ease the process of getting a contraceptive, WHISPA is able to screen users by taking into consideration their medical and sexual health history and also by referring users to selected youth-friendly health providers within their vicinity. In addition to helping to improve contraceptive use, WHISPA links young people to other SRH products like HIV test kits, HPV vaccines, condoms and more.
Morenike is a 2016 winner of the BMGF/Bayer 120under40 award and in 2019, she also won the Ingenuity fund grant and her innovative mobile app WHISPA was selected by World Health Organisation Africa as one of the Top 30 Innovations to look out for. Morenike rolled out WHISPA in Nigeria in 2020 and at the moment, it has now achieved over 15,000 downloads, with over 6000 young people already benefiting from accessing SRH through her innovative mobile app.
