Jessica Kakesa is a medical doctor specializing in sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). She is originally from Goma, a city in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo.
She has worked on SRHR in conflict settings for over ten years and has led and provided technical support to comprehensive family planning and post abortion care programs across many contexts. She is an experienced SRHR clinical trainer and has led coaching programs to improve the quality of SRHR services including family planning. She is a committed advocate for SRHR and is particularly passionate about expanding adolescents’ access to quality and compassionate family planning services.
Jessica currently works for the IRC as a reproductive health technical advisor and provides technical support to country programs in the Great Lakes and East Africa regions.
