Mohammad Amer Bashir has more than 13 years of international development experience focused on health and nutrition programming. His expertise includes Maternal, Newborn and Child Health, Nutrition, Reproductive Health and Health Systems Strengthening in both emergency and development contexts. He has led and managed the implementation of complex health programming and annual portfolios in challenging environments, including Syria, East & Southern Africa and Pakistan. As Advisor Programs for Save the Children International (SCI), Amer has overseen the development and roll-out of Country strategies, sector plans, program quality assurance tools and information management systems as well as leading country operations including supply-chain. Also, in his Advisor role, he conducted operational research and developed remote management and partner-led implementation plans. Previously as Program Development and Quality (PDQ) Director, Amer led annual and strategic planning and Line managed thematic technical advisors for Education, Child Protection and the Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning team ensuring that SC programs in Syria are in line with country and global plans and are adhering to SC quality standards. His experience is complemented by his focused knowledge not only in health and nutrition, but also in the child rights-based programming approaches of child participation, inclusion, diversity and non-discrimination. Amer brings significant experience from his work with international non-governmental organizations, such as SCI, as well as strong contextual understanding of Pakistan, East and Southern Africa and the Middle East.
