Jutomue Doetein

Jutomue Doetein is one of the youngest family planning youth Leaders and Influencers in Liberia. He has a certificate in Adolescents Sexual and Reproductive Health from the Geneva Foundation for Medical Education and Research. Jutomue has about eight (8) years of experience in Family Planning Advocacy especially advocating for young people access to Family planning as well as providing comprehensive sexuality education to young people in Liberia.

In 2019, he served as a Youth Consultant to the World Health Organization (WHO) and his Responsibilities Included: Identifying causes of Teenage Pregnancy among girls in Liberia and providing supporting documents. Jutomue Doetein is a passionate Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Advocate. Additionally, he has worked as a National Youth Consultant for the Breakthrough Action program and increased the visibility of family planning in Liberia.

Furthermore, his initiatives and works with different institutions in the space of Sexual and Reproductive Health/Family Planning have increased the understanding of more than 8,000 Liberians, mostly young people and their parents about the benefits and importance of Family planning through town hall meetings, awareness in urban and rural communities, media engagements, and peer to peer education. Of recent, Jutomue has become promoting male’s involvement in Family Planning with the objective of influencing young boys and men to help their counterparts make inform decisions about their Sexual and Reproductive Health thereby promoting the rights of women and girls.

As the result of creating the demand for family planning among young people in Liberia, many young people are now seen voluntarily visiting the local clinics and hospitals to access family planning.
