Mokshada Jain manages Surgo’s work in India and leads several initiatives, including the family planning portfolio. Mokshada maintains strategic relationships with Indian organizations and governments to ensure that Surgo’s programs are cutting edge, and in sync with the policy and the plans of partners and government. She also contributes to Surgo’s research activities by designing data collection methods and analyzing data. Her passion lies in adding new facets to international development programs by introducing integrated research and data driven innovations. Mokshada possesses hands-on experience in designing and managing large-scale development programs.

Before joining Surgo, Mokshada took on various roles within the BMGF supported Uttar Pradesh Technical Support Unit, University of Manitoba. Her roles have involved designing research, managing research operations, conducting quantitative analysis to inform program strategies, designing data driven tools for government decision making, and contributing to intervention design and knowledge translation. In her last role there, she was in-charge of the end-to-end management and implementation of Surgo Foundation’s Uttar Pradesh portfolio.

Mokshada has a master’s degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a BSc in Economics from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata.
