During over forty years of progressively greater responsibility in West Africa and the US, Pape Gaye has become a leader in worldwide population and health programs. His background, experience and personal qualities combine to inspire and accomplish positive change in the developing world. Technically sound and dedicated to improving health care for the poorest people around the globe, he recognizes that partnership is essential to meet the enormous challenges posed by viral pandemics like COVID-19 ; EBOLA, HIV/AIDS and on-going efforts to reduce maternal mortality and improve sexual and reproductive health care. Skilled in building cooperative relationships among diverse groups, organizations and governments, Gaye is able to creatively channel human and material resources to produce the most vibrant results. Gaye recently stepped down as CEO of IntraHealth International and is setting up the Baobab Institute for Health and Development. Gaye intends to focus his next chapter in Capacity Building and strengthening of local NGOs.
