If you are no longer able to attend the ICFP, we offer a partial refund of registration fees up until Monday, 26 September, 2022 or the option to transfer registration to another individual up until Friday, 28 October, 2022. Check out the registration policies section for more information and deadlines on partial refund and transfers.

- Travel and visa expenses (visa requirement dependent on passport country)
- Accommodation expenses
- Travel insurance (recommended)
Can I buy a one-day virtual registration ticket?
We are not offering single-day virtual registration. The flat rate will grant you access to the virtual ICFP platform for all days of the conference (14-17 November).
Will there be on-site registration?
Due to COVID-19, there will be no on-site registration available for ICFP, including registration transfers. All participants must register by Friday, 28 October 2022.
Can minors attend the ICFP virtually?
Due to restrictions around the participation of minors (anyone under the age of 18), we are unable to accommodate the virtual attendance of minors at the 2022 ICFP.
How do I register for 2022 ICFP pre-conferences?
Information on registration for pre-conferences, side events, and the mentorship program will be available at a later date.
What 2022 ICFP scientific conference sessions will be livestreamed?
Track organizers have taken great care to rank sessions in order of the highest-quality abstracts from each track based on the scores given by reviewers. Each track has been given a number of sessions based on the number of abstracts submitted to that track. Each track will have approximately 50% of their conference sessions livestreamed. These sessions will be indicated as such in the conference program. Due to the limited size of some of the session rooms and the interactive nature of the oral flash presentations, these sessions will not be livestreamed.
Attendance Logistics
What are the official conference COVID-19 safety protocols?
We are planning in coordination with representatives of the JHU Center for Health Security, on implementing a number of measures to ensure as best as possible the safety of all delegates, depending upon the COVID-19 situation in Thailand in the fall, possibly including but not limited to:
- Increased number of, and access to, hand-washing/hand-sanitizing stations
- Promoting personal protective practices, such as safe physical distancing, frequent hand washing/sanitizing, and use of a mask
Offering virtual, live-streamed sessions and activities - COVID-19 detection, surveillance, and quarantine facilities
- Full vaccination requirement
All registered attendees will be notified once the official list of protocols is available. Please note that all attendees will be expected to follow and comply with any and all national and/or local requirements, as well as any policies set by the conference.

What type of travel visa do I apply for when planning to attend the 2022 ICFP?

Do you recommend getting travel insurance?
The Thai government is currently requiring travelers to have proof of at least $10,000 USD in medical coverage for medical treatment in Thailand. This is subject to change, and if this requirement is removed we will inform registrants immediately. Additionally, we recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover flights, accomodations, etc. Please note that in the case of unforeseen venue capacity restrictions, travel insurance is not likely to cover this circumstance. Please review the terms and conditions of the policy to ensure that it provides the level of protection that you are looking for.
