Founder and Director, The TriHealthon
Esther is the 10th child of a family-of-sixteen, a first-generation student, a final-year medical-student of the University of Ibadan, and the Founder/Director of The TriHealthon, a multi-award-winning NGO promoting health-equity in Nigeria. She has also worked on development-issues with the U.S State Department, Council of Europe, G20, China-Africa Project, and Chinese Global Television Network.
In 2018, she was an Obama’s Young African Leader, a TEDxJohannesburg’s 100Ideas100Millenial Award winner, and her university’s delegate to the Dream Big Conference, Uganda.
In 2019, she was her community’s Young Leader of the Decade; the youngest Dalai Lama Fellow; Clinton Global Initiative’s Ambassador; AU’s delegate to G(irls)20, Canada & Bayer’s Youth Ag Summit, Brazil; and the first student to win the President Award of Wells Mountain Initiative, USA.
In 2020, she won UNDP’s King Hamad Youth Award, the Student Network Organization’s Global Exchange Grant, and AU’s Atlas-for-Development Fellowship. She was also named a finalist for JCI’s “Ten Outstanding Young Persons in Nigeria” award and Reckitt’s One Young World Summit scholarship; and received COVID-response grants from Wells Mountain Initiative and Peace First.
She also won full scholarship to attend the: HIV Research for Prevention Conference, International Conference on HIV Science, Towards Unity for Health Conference, COVID-19 Virtual Conference, and International AIDS Conference (the world’s largest scientific gathering).
In 2021, she was listed on her medical school’s Primus Honor List for the third time in a row, won the .Org Impact Award (Rising Star Category) and became a finalist for the Anzisha Prize and Global Student Prize.
